According to my 2014 Goodreads challenge, I read 112 books this past year (although admittedly, a few of them were DNFs). I thought it would be fun to highlight some of my favorites as well as a few “winners” in other categories. Hope you enjoy my quick review; I’d love to hear what some of your favorites were too!

The book that left the most lasting impression

Every Day (Every Day #1)
I think this book should be required reading. I wish everyone had to live this main character’s life for a week or two so they would learn about diversity first-hand. Would people get along better if everyone knew exactly what it was like to be a visible minority, face physical and mental health challenges, have different sexual orientations, experience each body type, etc? If you haven’t read this book, you should go out and read it. Right. Now.

My favorite reads of the year

Want to know what kind of books I like? These are the books I loved the most this year. So. Good.

Tempest (Tempest, #1)Reboot (Reboot, #1)Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)After the End (After the End #1)Ashfall (Ashfall, #1)

Don’t judge these books by their covers

Just my opinion of course, but I hate the covers on these books. I’m not a fan of the washed-out look or covers that look like something I could have thrown together in five minutes. I LOVED these books though, and I’m so glad I read them despite not liking the package!

WildThe QuickUnearthly (Unearthly, #1)Every Day (Every Day #1)

Don’t judge these books by their covers either!

I think these covers are amazing BUT… I DNF’d (did not finish) them because I’m not afraid to stop reading when I’m not enjoying a book at all. These covers tried to fool me…

Fire & Flood (Fire & Flood, #1)Arclight (Arclight, #1)Timebound (The Chronos Files, #1)Icons (Icons, #1)Nil (Nil, #1)

Feel free to let me know what you think, even if you completely disagree with me. That’s what makes it interesting; people’s tastes are so different!
